Research Training at the University of Technology Sydney during IMU’s MSc in Molecular Medicine

My name is Mohamad Siddiq bin Mohamad and I am currently working at Cytopeutics Sdn Bhd as a Clinical Research Associate. My deep interest in human biology brought me through several years of education including Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) which then eventually led me to pursue my MSc in Molecular Medicine (MMM) at International Medical University (IMU).

My journey in pursuit of my Master’s degree had been filled with challenges and triumphs. I vividly remembered the countless late nights spent poring over research papers, conducting experiments in the laboratory, and balancing coursework with my other responsibilities. It was not an easy road, but my passion in research field especially molecular medicine that had ignited in me during my undergraduate studies had kept me going.

One of the highlights of my graduate studies was the opportunity to work closely with esteemed professors/ supervisors (Dr Dinesh Kumar Chellappan, Dr Thiagarajan Madheswaran, Dr Kamal Dua,  Dr Keshav and Dr Gabrielle), who had extensive expertise in molecular medicine. Their mentorship and guidance had been invaluable in shaping my knowledge and skills in this rapidly evolving field so much so that it helped me to publish an editorial letter titled “The versatility of 18ß-glycyrrhetinic acid in attenuating pulmonary inflammatory disorders” in EXCLI journal.
