Convocation Award

The Professor Gerard George Distinguished Alumnus Award for Innovation and Impact recognises outstanding alumni who have demonstrated exceptional innovation and made a significant, measurable impact in their field, industry, or community. Celebrating visionary leadership, creativity, and transformative outcomes, this award highlights the global excellence of IMU’s alumni. It is presented during the IMU University Convocation ceremonies held annually in July and November, marking a special occasion to honour individuals whose work continues to inspire and uplift.

Eligibility Requirements

All IMU alumni are eligible to be nominated for this award, provided they meet the following criteria:

  • Alumni Status: Nominee must be a graduate of the International Medical University (IMU).
  • Professional Experience: Nominee must have at least 10 years of professional experience following graduation at the time of nomination.
  • Leadership and Excellence: Nominee must demonstrate outstanding leadership and a sustained track record of excellence in their chosen profession or field.
  • Impact and Contribution: Nominee must have made meaningful contributions—whether locally, regionally, or globally—through innovation, entrepreneurship, public service, or policy influence, with a measurable impact on their field or community.
  • Previous Recognition: Nominee must not have previously received the IMU Alumni of the Year Award.
