Journey at IMU

Achievements Post-IMU
- Medical and Academic Progression: Following graduation, Dr Lingeshan completed housemanship at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, where he passed MRCP Part 1 and 2 and discovered a passion for general medicine. His journey continued at Hospital Temerloh as a Medical Officer and physician trainee through the Parallel Pathway. Recently, after successfully completing the AMC examinations, he began a new chapter as a Cardiology Registrar in Western Australia.
- National Recognition: Dr Lingeshan was awarded Winner in the NHAM (National Heart Association of Malaysia) Case Report Presentation for a challenging case he managed at Hospital Temerloh—an achievement that not only boosted his confidence but connected him with peers and mentors across Malaysia.

With limited time and academic opportunities in the public healthcare system, Dr Lingeshan learned to segment his goals into short- and mid-term timelines, allowing him to progress steadily. Guided by the encouragement of supervisors like Dr. Ilham and Dr. Hazwani, he overcame exhaustion and maintained a disciplined approach to learning and growth.

Now in Western Australia, Dr Lingeshan has begun contributing to the academic community by offering bedside teaching to medical students at the University of Western Australia. He plans to deepen his involvement in medical education and enter formal cardiology training within the year. His ultimate goal is to specialise in interventional cardiology, continuing to uplift the profession through both clinical service and mentorship.
