Dr. Sharrada Segeran is a passionate advocate for youth mental health. Currently practicing in Australia, she has dedicated her career to addressing mental health issues within the youth community, particularly after the exacerbation of these issues during the COVID-19 pandemic. With a deep commitment to providing accessible mental health care, Dr. Sharrada founded Mind Matters, an NGO focused on supporting youth mental health in Malaysia.
Dr. Sharrada Segeran’s work through Mind Matters and her advocacy for youth mental health has positively impacted countless young individuals facing mental health challenges. During her time at IMU, Dr. Sharrada was actively involved in community service. As President of the Community Service Club and Chair of the Youth Task Force for the National Coalition of Mental Wellbeing, she worked tirelessly to ensure meaningful engagement on mental health issues. Her experiences at IMU, particularly under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Khoo Suan Phaik through the ACE programme, helped her refine her approach to tackling youth mental health issues.
